You will arrive at Muscat International Airport. On your arrival you will proceed straight to the Immigration. Immigration & customs are quick and simple. Upon arrival at the General Arrivals lounge you will be met by our MTA representative who will assist you to the comforts of our vehicle to drive you the hotel. Overnight at Muscat Hotel.
In the morning, you will be met at the hotel for a half day City Tour. The tour begins with a visit to the beautiful Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, one of the largest mosques in the Middle East. Visit Bait Al Zubair Museum. You will have photo stops at the residence of his Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Al Alam Palace, which is flanked by the 16th century Portuguese forts Mirani and Jalali. In the evening you will be strolling through Muttrah Souq, where you will bargain for handicrafts and silver items. Overnight at Muscat Hotel.
Note: The Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat can be visited between 08:00 – 11:00 AM on working days from Saturdays to Thursdays and it remains closed on Friday and public holidays.
Today you will have A full day visit of the historic town of Nizwa, Oman’s cultural capital. You will proceed to Jabrin castle built in the 17th century and one of the finest of its kind. Its magnificent plasterwork, the carved doors and the painted wooden beams of the ceilings makes this castle amazingly different. Thereafter continue to Bahla, one of the oldest small towns of Oman and in the 12th century the capital of the tribe living in the region. As the monumental fort is closed for renovation only a photo stop is planned. Bahla is also famous for its pottery. Overnight at Nizwa Hotel.
Morning drive to Wahiba sands, via Birkat A Mauz and Ibra. Wahiba sands are a vast mass of undulating red and white sea of sand. The ever-changing patterns of the dunes are a photographer’s delight. After some exciting sand dune driving which offers excellent thrills and chills for all, enjoy the spectacular sunset from the top of the dunes in the evening. Your first destination is Wadi Bani Khalid – an oasis spot in the middle of the barren and dry mountains. It is one of the most beautiful wadis in Oman and its pools with clear deep blue water give you an opportunity to take a refreshing dip. Enjoy the ambiance of the Wadi. Then we'll drive to the fishing town of Sur, the eastern most town on the Arabian Peninsula, where until recently the famous Omani Dhows were built. Dhow building in Sur dates back centuries and is closely linked with the maritime heritage of Oman. From Sur too, in the old days, the Omanis were sailing the seas, mainly to India. After an early dinner you will visit the turtle sanctuary at Ras Al Jinz, where at night the green turtles, after a journey of thousands of kilometers, will come ashore to lay their eggs. You then return to the hotel for the overnight at Ras Al Hadd.
In the morning after breakfast first visit the ruins of Bibi Miriam's Tomb that can be seen at the village of Qalhat on the coastal road to Muscat (photo stop only). Our next stop is the Bimah Sinkhole, a spectacular limestone crater with blue green water at the bottom. On clear sunny days while driving along the coast one might get the chance to see sharks in the deep blue water or fleet footed gazelles sprint across the landscape. Retun to Muscat. Overnight in Muscat Hotel.
Departure transfers to the airport.
