Badami
Badami is located in the Bagalkot district, India. It was the capital of the Chalukyas and is popular thanks to several temples, some structural and other rock-cut temples.
Badami was ruled by different population, therefore what is still existing today is the result of many destructions and wars. The most important point of interest in Badami are the Badami Caves, the Badami Fort and the Bhutanatha Temple Road. The Badami caves are made by four cave temples which have been carved out of the hill.
In Badami town there are many indian restaurants, but if you want to taste the international cooking you have to go out of the town. Three festival, which are settled in nearby cities, have a cultural importance for Badami. These festival are: the Banashankari Temple Festival during January- February,the Virupaksha temple Car Festival in Pattadakal in March and the Mallikarjuna Temple Festival in Pattadakal in March-Ap.
