Komodo and surrounding islands consist of a dry, hostile wilderness, with towering cliffs forming eerie horizons as you approach. Rinca island, to the east of Komodo, is still the park's best kept secret. Its starkly beautiful, prehistoric landscape sees few visitors, even though the island contains nearly as many dragons as its larger neighbors.
