Tour of Menaggio, Varenna, Lecco and Bellagio, departure from Como

Meeting in Como at 9 am and departure by private bus for Menaggio.

Brief stop in this amazing village, characterized by a central square offering coffees, shops and an awesome lakeside with unique landscape.

At 10.45 am departure by boat for Varenna, this boat tour offers the most scenic views of the whole Lario area, since it shows the meeting of the three branches composing Lake Como.

Varenna, with its colorful houses, is located at the foot of a rock wall, on whose peak is Vezio Castle. Coasting the lake from the jetty to the right, we'll walk along the suggestive "Lover's Walk", which takes us to the city centre. Varenna boasts imposing villas and visitable amazing gardens studded by picturesque cypresses.

Time available to visit Villa Monastero, a museum offering evidence of 4 centuries of local history. This villa is surrounded by a botanic garden, which extends for 2 km. Here it is possible to relax and admire several and rare autochthonous and exotic arboreal species. At the end of the visit, at 12 pm, departure for Lierna and lunch in a restaurant.

After lunch, at 2 pm the tour continues to Lecco, where we'll enjoy free time to discover the town. Lecco is famous for being the city where Alessandro Manzoni lived when he was young. It was in his house, the eighteenth-century villa Caleotto (now Manzonian Museum), that Alessandro Manzoni found the inspiration for the plot of his novel The Betrothed. The surrounding lake and mountains make Lecco a unique location, old and modern at the same time. The Manzonian epoch is mostly revived in Pescarenico, a district meticulously described by the writer.

At 3.30 pm meeting and departure for Bellagio, passing through Malgrate and moving along the scenic route overlooking the right side of Lake Como. Bellagio is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful tourist destinations, not only of Lake Como, but of the whole world. Ever since the 16th century, its beauty has been appreciated from both Italian and foreign visitors. Lake Como's landscape makes Bellagio really charming; here it is possible to enjoy many different views of the lake. Of course, also its villas, trees and flowers, its picturesque stairways and the different evocative paths make Bellagio unique. The ancient hamlet, where it is possible to admire old and suggestive houses, is characterized by mysterious alleys and cobblestone staircases flanked by colorful shops selling high-quality local products.

At 5.30 pm meeting and departure for Como. We'll move along the left side of Lake Como, passing through Lezzo and Nesso, other two amazing hamlets.
