Welcome and assistance upon arrival at the international airport in Aqaba, assistance with customs formalities and departure to the hotel. Check-in, dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, drive north to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, with its 423 meters below sea level. Free day on the Dead Sea, which is located right on the western border of Jordan. Salt water, unusually rich in minerals, mud and thermal mineral springs, is a real cure for the body and the spirit. We finally continue towards Amman for dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast, transfer to Jerash, the eastern Pompeii. You'll visit the roman theatre and the byzantine churches with their mosaic floors. You'll walk along the m ain road called "Cardo" and will experience the incredible acoustics of the theatre, that is still used for Jerash's music festivals.
Later, you'll depart for Aljoun, where you'll visit the ancient islamic castle, where Saladin's troups defended the region against the crusaders.
Return to Amman and overnight.
After breakfast we depart towards Madaba, where we visit one of the most spectacular churches in the world: the Church of St. George with its mosaic-decorated floor depicting the Map of Jerusalem. After the visit, we set off towards Mount Nebo, the place where Moses was buried.
If you are lucky and the sky is clear, you can enjoy an extraordinary view of the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Jericho on the other side of the Jordan River. Continue to the Kings Road to visit Kerak, capital of the biblical Kingdom of Maob. Perched on top of a steep hill, Kerak is a major Christian city, dominated by the largest and best preserved crusader castle in the region. Then continue towards Petra, for dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Full day visit in Petra including visiting the siq, treasury, street of facades, Roman theatre, royal tombs, Byzantine church, museum. Depending on your abilities, you can visit the monastery (900 steps) or you can stroll up to the place of sacrifice.
Overnight in Petra.
After breakfast we are headed to Little Petra. This town was used to built to allow a stop for the caravans en route to Syria and Egypt. The next stop is the Wadi Rum, where old lakes, great mountains and red dunes will provide a breathtaking view. Option 2h 4x4 jeep activity.
Overnight in tented camp.
